This traditional flint and brick wall had loose sections and failing joints. Loose flints were reset, damaged brick lacing courses repaired, and the whole wall raked out and repointed in lime mortar to stabilise it.
Flint walls rely on their mortar far more than brick or stone walls do, so using the right lime mix, and getting the finish right around each flint, is what keeps them standing for another century.
