Fireplace Opening Rebuilt with Lime-Hemp Plaster

About This Project

Traditional Lime Mortar Specialists In Wiltshire

The brick arches around this fireplace were removed and a reclaimed timber beam installed over the opening at the correct height. The chimney breast was then plastered in lime-hemp, which insulates, stays breathable and gives a soft, natural finish.

Lime-hemp plaster is ideal on old chimney breasts and solid walls, where it helps to keep the surface warm and dry.
